Sherman Smith to fit the bisque shoulder head crafted by Ida Mae Staples. The bisque shoulder head is incised IMS. It is rather early, as the doll has a very tiny carved waist. Was a Sherman Smith family friend and he carved wood bodies for her original bisque heads. Kansas City and passed away 11/8/2011 at age 87.
This little doll is a fine example of both her original bisque. Work and a super early S Smith wood carved jointed body. The doll has hand sewn half slip, pantaloons and a blue flowered. Cotton dress that highlight her blue eyes. A Kaiser doll stand is included.
