Impressive Antique 1884 Folk Art MASSIVE Dollhouse Victorian 3 Story Doll House......................................... Welcome to FORGETMEDONT and my quest for interesting, unique, and faboooolous finds. Thank you for checking out my auctions! Stunning in design, longevity, Victorian charm and SIZE! Total height is 5' 8.

This was a labor of time and adoration for a very lucky young girl in the 1880's. These dollhouse were often made as a replica of the actual family home. House has survived over 140 years of play and storage. I have owned this for a number of years and decided to let it become someone elses treasure. Three story painted mustard gold and brown Victorian house has a large welcoming porch with steps, panelled door, massive columns, even the only piece of furniture found with it...

A handsome elaborate wood and brass chair. Top of house section has a bold set of eave brackets running along the top of main house. One side has five windows and a add-on bay window style room with three additional windows. Other side has 6 windows.

Back of the house could also be the front... Painted brown sand texture paint, the house number 1884 (which is also it's date of completion) in gold above another huge door with arched window over door.

Most likely the actual house fronted two main streets. Five windows and two screened foundation openings. Gingerbread style sawtooth decoration seperates the house from attic section.

Typical Victorian slanted roof with four doormer windows. Wood floor on bottom and second level, also attic area. Over this houses many decades of life, it has had additions and repairs. On the very top of the roof sits a windowed obsevation room, reminiscent.

Topped with a whale weathervane.. I may not be far off!

Inside is a decorated bottle brush Christmas tree. This addition appears possibly newer, but is a perfect cherry on top! Some scattered remnants of wallpaper. I have included a photo showing house with a soda can in front for perspective. House from base to top of weathervane measures a whopping 68.

That is about 5' 8! It is taller than me. The depth is 47" with porch included 53" wide including bay window room. This is a statement piece. Has all the folk art touches, bells and whistles. Roof is removable and doors used to open but have a piece of wood holding them shut. Charming small touches like a brass antique military eagle button doorknob, a carved wood sweet dove/pigeon sitting on a windowsill when I found it, the wonderful antique dollhouse chair and a spelter statue of a lovely maiden at the back steps. All windows have glass (one is plexiglass replacement) some are old wavy glass. Some glass has been replaced over time. Repairs to inside window trim, some breaks and loss to inside trim, some cracks and splits to wood, replaced floor boards, play and storage wear.

I see a warped board, some repairs to trims, supoorts added on floors, cracks and missing wood on some eave brackets, a flower shaped hole in attic roof? Some new nails, screws and brackets added over time, Some paint has been touched up. This house is not "filled with history" it IS history.

The history of the skilled and loving craftsman that turned hours into a one of a kind gift. The history of a family home, that was handed down, along with it's miniature dollhouse version, to generation after generation. Who then, after telling those families stories we all have, would then pass them both down again , when their turn came. For almost 150 years this cycle continued.

This house tells all their stories too. Whether you choose to enjoy this house as is, or return it to Victorian oppulance, it is waiting and worthy. It is presently residing on Chincoteague Island Va. Please make sure vehical will be large enough for transport. We will make ourselves available and prepare the house as you wish.

For transport, the observational room and roof, along with bay window room are removable. Base of house will measure 43"tall x 43" wide x 47 deep.
