This is truly an exceptional example of an early Grodnertal Wood Doll and she would be perfect in a doll house setting, possibly sitting in a baby's high chair! She is only 1 3/8 tall. Fully jointed at the hips, knees, shoulders and arms.
Dressed in her original clothing. She has a tiny peak at the top of her head that may have been the making of a tuck comb, but it is not painted gold as they normally are, so may be just the way she was carved. My greatly magnified pictures show some lightening of one painted eye, but when you see her in person with the human eye, that is not detectable. I believe she is museum quality and would be a great addition to any early wood doll collection. I have a pin set in the miniature stool behind her as I didn't have a chair small enough with a back and her dress caused her to go backwards when seated. If you want the miniature block stool, I will send it along. International Buyers are responsible for custom charges.
I try to describe my items accurately. However, the items I sell are antique, so you should expect some wear that does not affect their value. Please review my pictures as they describe better than I can.
