1910 Bliss "Large Cottage" Litho over wood dollhouse. Measures: 18 inches tall, 13 inches wide and 9 inches deep. It appears the house originally had pierced pressed fiberboard railings on all three levels where the aqua and yellow printed spindlework now appear. The original open-work can be seen behind the replaced pieces on the sides of the lower porch. The missing pieces have been replaced with photocopied Bliss paper, glued to pasteboard, then attached either with museum putty or just tension.
All in all, a pretty clever fix, and looks pretty good. There is some separation of the porch on one side because the front wooden panel has warped and is no longer perfectly flat. The litho paper on the front of the base is pieced, but original. This particular house was manufactured by Bliss with papers from an earlier house that were adapted to fit this larger model. There is no evidence of any chimney.
These is roof paper missing here and there, particularly along the edges, as well as a few small wall pieces on a corner and some edges. There are also a few loose edges. There is age discoloration and water staining here an there inside and out. Window "Glass" and curtains are not original.
